Join a variety of physician, healthcare, and public health professionals to examine current threats and response initiatives related to preparing for the emergence of new diseases and reemergence of some old diseases. This conference includes local experts who will explore issues related to current surveillance tools, recognition of unusual diseases or outbreaks, and laboratory molecular biology methods used in identifying potential emerging diseases such as avian influenza A (H5N1).
Physicians will learn about signs and symptoms of exposure to critical biological infectious agents and early indicators of significant outbreaks. Goals of this conference include strengthening collaborative relationships and developing a shared situational awareness among the County of Sonoma Public Health Division, community physicians, hospitals and other community health care providers.
